The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 12 times overnight, using grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms, the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
"The pro-Russian militants were firing on the villages of Opytne, Novhorodske, Pisky and the town of Avdiyivka. In addition, they were firing in the direction of Chemical and Cement plants, the village of Spartak, and the old terminal of the Donetsk airport, the village of Shyroka Balka and Putylivskiy park in the city of Donetsk," the report says.
After that, the night in the Donbas conflict zone was calm.
"Despite these provocations, military sappers are trying to eliminate the consequences of the disaster in the town of Svatove as soon as possible. Yesterday, they continued to survey the area of the munitions depot and scrapped a number of ammunition. Only yesterday, they examined 4.5 hectares of adjacent territory and destroyed more than 1,500 munitions," the press center said.
