The National Bank of Ukraine on Tuesday evening strengthened the official hryvnia exchange rate by 36 kopiykas, bringing the national currency to UAH 23.45 to the dollar.
The Central Bank set the following official exchange rates of the hryvnia against leading foreign currencies for December 16:
$100 costs UAH 2,345.1305 (on December 15, it was UAH 2,381.1620);
EUR 100 costs UAH 2,577.2984 (on December 15, it was UAH 2,615.2302);
10 RUB costs UAH 3.3110 (on December 15, it was UAH 3.3908).
On Tuesday, December 15, hryvnia quotations against the dollar on the interbank currency market by the close of trade settled at UAH 23.55/23.75 to the dollar.
Hryvnia quotes against the euro settled at UAH 25.8060/26.0200, while those against the Russian ruble settled at UAH 0.3350/0.3390.
According to the National Bank of Ukraine, the weighted average exchange rate of the hryvnia as of 17:00 was UAH 23.4513 to the dollar, with 601 deals concluded by this time worth a total of $432.67 million.
