A major 7.9 magnitude earthquake has struck off the southwest coast of Indonesia, the U.S. Geological Survey reports.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage from the quake, which hit 21 miles south of Gombangan, Indonesia.
The Indonesian Meteorological Agency issued a tsunami warning for West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and Aceh, Bengkulu and Lampung, according to the official Antara News Agency.
