Adele left ‘mortified’ after credit card is declined at H&M store during shopping trip
The British superstar is worth a cool £85 million
Adele has revealed that she was left red-faced when her credit card was declined during a recent shopping trip.
The chart-topping star, who is thought to be worth around £85 million, was left feeling ‘embarrassed’ after visiting high street fashion chain H&M ahead of a gig in San Jose last weekend.
Instead of keeping the awkward incident to herself, the British superstar decided to regale the crowd with the story at the concert on Sunday night.
According to The Mirror, she told the audience: “I went to H&M and my card got declined. Oh my days, pretty embarrassing.”
And it seems that that the staff behind the till didn’t even recognise the multi-millionaire superstar.
“Nobody knew it was me, but I was mortified,” she added.
To make matters worse, Adele’s pet dachshund, Louie, ended up getting into a fight with another dog in the middle of the store.
“My dog tried to claw another dog,” she said. “My trip to H&M was great… but no one knew it was me so I think I’m going to get away with it.”
Despite being Britain’s wealthiest ever female musician, Adele still loves to shop for clothes on the high street.
She has been spotted at shops including discount store Target during the North American leg of her world tour.
Adele recently told an audience in California: “They have everything! Literally I spent $100 on stuff I do not need, I never need anything I buy at Target but it's amazing.”
Earlier this year, the singer even admitted that she used to buy her underwear from Primark, saying: “I used to shop at Primark for my knickers all the time. I loved going there and getting some bargains.”
