Formula 1's summer break is finally over, but McLaren-Honda's Stoffel Vandoorne is still waiting for a full-time seat to open up. Instead of piloting a Formula 1 car, he's spending the night in his home country as an Uber driver ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix in a very, very fast McLaren.
Despite only driving in one race this season following Fernando Alonso's scary accident in Australia, Vandoorne is ahead of five other drivers in the points standings after a 10th place finish in his F1 debut at Bahrain. He's since been racing in Japan in Super Formula, but there's a good chance he'll finally end up with an F1 ride next season.
I'll be in Brussels tonight as an @Uber driver with a very cool #McLaren570S! pic.twitter.com/5sgOrnBBFm
