The judge Garcia Cardona, who read the sentence, said that not only did the man throw the toddler into the pool several times, he even dragged her hair under the water and held her tiny body in such a position in the water that she was unable to breathe.
The incident took place on 12th August 2015. The man was recorded throwing the girl repeatedly in the swimming pool while her mother was sleeping in the hotel room. He can also be seen dragging her hair under the water and not allowing her to breath properly, while the girl was trying to swim but did not know how to.
The defence had tried to suggest that the little girl had died outside the pool and not in the water, but this was rejected by the judges.
