At least 53 people have died after an overloaded train derailed in Cameroon.
The crash also left at least 300 people injured, transport minister Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo’o said.
State radio in the country is reporting that the horrific accident happened in Eseka, which is about two hours away from the capital Yaounde.
Local media also reports that Eseka doesn’t have an appropriate medical facility, and that victims are having to be rushed to hospitals out of town.
Journalists have been blocked from the scene by angry crowds, but people are posting images on social media.
Rail officials say the train had been carrying 1,300 passengers, instead of the usual 600.
At the same time, heavy rains in the area have been causing landslides along roads.
