Another ‘suspicious’ device found by police probing North Greenwich ‘terror attempt’

Counter-terrorism police investigating the alleged terror attempt at North Greenwich station have discovered another ‘suspicious’ device.

Met Police officers found the item at Tudor Road, Newton Abbott, Scotland Yard has said.

Officers immediately evacuated the property and the surrounding area, and a 200-metre cordon has been put in place.

The Met Police said in a statement that they had gone to a house in Newton Abbott, Devon, as part of their inquiries into the Greenwich scare.

‘Whilst there, officers found an item they deemed suspicious,’ they added. ‘Officers evacuated the address and alerted Devon and Cornwall Police.’

Devon and Cornwall Police are now dealing with the discovery, working alongside Scotland Yard’s counter-terrorism unit.
