Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler will visit Wellington as part of a six stop tour around Australia and New Zealand.
Premier League football fans are in for a treat this month with one of the beautiful game's best on his way down under for a series of speaking engagements.
Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler, who played 266 times in the famous red shirt, is touring Australia with a single stop in New Zealand.
The Wellington event has been organised by Liverpool Supporters Club Wellington chairman Andrew McGoff, who this year also brought out former Liverpool player Jamie Carragher in conjunction with the UK-based Liverpool Former Players Association.
"It was a bit of a financial risk for them if it didn't' come off, but we ended up selling over 500 tickets."Buoyed by that success, McGoff decided to strike while the iron was hot and organised another player appearance for 2016.
The Liverpool Former Players Association helps organise different events to bring fans closer to some of the legends they used to watch at Anfield, while raising money for good causes.
McGoff said community engagement and charity work were also an important aspect of what the Wellington branch did.
"To get official status from the club you have to show that you are running events and working with local charities."
Alongside now being an officially recognised supporters club, McGoff said having the country's only professional football team, Wellington Phoenix, based in the same city was a major draw for bringing out high profile guests like Fowler.
