Conor McGregor will have plenty of time to enjoy his UFC 205 victory over Eddie Alvarez.
UFC president Dana White says the two-division champion won’t get back in the Octagon for several months.
White told the Los Angeles Times that McGregor won’t fight any earlier than May 2017 as he focuses on helping his pregnant girlfriend.
"His girl [Dee Devlin] gets super stressed out when he fights,” White said. “He doesn't want her having any of that stress while she's pregnant.
"He's good. He should take time off. He's been fighting nonstop. Nothing wrong with him taking time off. It's good for him and her, and it's good for the baby."
McGregor announced Devlin’s pregnancy after his win at Madison Square Garden to become the first UFC fighter in history to hold title belts in two weight classes simultaneously.
