History embroidery on the territory of Ukraine dates back to BC. Herodotus mentioned about it and a lot of travelers wrote about it. Over the centuries people created and perfected various techniques embroidery. Each ornament on the shirt was not just so, and it had a special place, meaning and magic because Ukrainians believed that a particular pattern is a protective force from harm and evil spirits. By embroidered could determine the status and origin of the owner.

Vinnytsia region

At Vinnytsia embroidery is not limited in colors. And on each shirt can be found a color that is an the prevailing in the pattern.

Volyn region

Shirts inherent clear, geometric patterns. Florals motifs prefer in the south.

Dnipropetrovsk region
