Singer Christina Grimmie, who starred in NBC's "The Voice," was critically injured when a gunman shot her after a concert in Florida, authorities said.
A man armed with two guns walked up to the singer as she was signing autographs Friday night and opened fire, Orlando Police spokeswoman Wanda Ford said.
Grimmie's brother tackled the gunman, who fatally shot himself, according to authorities.
The singer had performed at The Plaza Live theater Friday night, along with the band Before You Exit, when the shooting broke out.
"This is a very tragic event," Ford said. "This should have been something that was fun and exciting, and for something like this to happen is just a tragedy."
Grimmie finished third on Season 6 of "The Voice." She was discovered on YouTube, where she has nearly 3 million followers.
Before the shooting, the singer posted video on social media encouraging fans to come out to the theater.
Police have not named a suspect or given a motive for the shooting.
