UK TERROR WARNING: Islamic State jihadi threatens to attack Heathrow Airport THIS WEEKEND

AN ISLAMIC State supporter has threatened to carry out devastating attacks on British and US airports in a chilling warning to holidaymakers.

The threatened terror strike comes just days after Islamic State member Akhmed Chatayev killed 42 people in a strike on the Turkish Ataturk airport – and as scores of holidaymakers make their way to Heathrow airport.

The twitter account, which is known to support the jihadi’s vile regime, claimed the attacks would target jets “flying from Heathrow to the US”, adding that “there will be a device placed in either Heathrow, LAX or JFK airports.”

New York’s JFK airport is the top destination for flights leaving Heathrow, with many expected to make the journey across the Atlantic this weekend to join in with American Independence Day celebrations.

The chilling threat of yet more sick attacks was revealed by SITE Intelligence Group, the world's leading non-governmental counter-terror organisation.

The FBI said there are no specific or credible security threats against the US known to law enforcement heading into the Fourth of July weekend.

A spokesperson added: “However, law enforcement and members of the public must remain vigilant.

“The FBI asks members of the public to maintain awareness of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.”

It comes after at least 42 people were killed and more than 230 were injured following the Ataturk airport attacks on Tuesday evening in what Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has branded “a heinous planned attack”.

A Turkish official said 13 nationalities as well as Turks were killed in the airport attack in Istanbul on Tuesday, including tourists from Iraq, China, Jordan and Tunisia.

Three attackers opened fire near a terminal entrance and blew themselves up after police fired at them, according to officials.

A flurry of gunfire was heard by fleeing witnesses, as the attackers and police engaged in a shoot out, with the suicide bombers wielding AK-47s.

One person at the scene saw a brave police officer wrestle a suicide bomber to the ground, then the attacker detonated his bomb.

But the Turkish military is believed to have stopped even more strikes after security forced killed two suspected Islamic State members trying to enter Turkey illegally at the weekend, including a man thought to be plotting a suicide bomb attack in Turkey.

The pro-government Yeni Safak newspaper said the Russian bomber was from Dagestan, which borders Chechnya, where Moscow has led two wars against separatists and religious militants since the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991.

The organiser of the attack is believed to have been Akhmed Chatayev, a Chechnan Islamic State leader responsible for training Russia-speaking militants.
