Boy chases car after his father is kidnapped at gunpoint

The moment a five-year-old boy chased after a car that gun-wielding kidnappers had just forced his father into has been captured on security camera.

Footage shows the small boy stood helplessly in the middle of a street after the five hijackers had bundled his father into his car driven off.

The incident took place in the Brazilian city of Duque de Caxias on Tuesday and according to police his father was released shortly afterwards and reunited with his son, whose grandparents were consoling.

Detective Juliana Emerique said: ‘Despite the shock suffered by the child, the father told us his son is doing fine and hasn’t shown any sign of being affected by the incident.’

The assault happened just as the pair arrived to visit the child’s grandparents.
