Jose Aldo makes huge claim

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight champion Jose Aldo has expressed confidence in his skills, saying he does not see any situation where Max Holloway can beat him.

Holloway beat Anthony Pettis at the UFC 206 event to claim the interim featherweight title and with that win was guaranteed a shot at unifying the division.

While no official announcement for the unification clash has been made by the UFC authorities, the American indicated he would want to face the Brazilian at UFC 208, which takes place in Brooklyn, New York on 11 February.

Aldo for his part has maintained he was already booked for a title fight at the UFC 208 event irrespective of the opponent on offer. Now that he knows his opponent will be Holloway, Aldo is not too concerned saying he does not see where he could lose to the 25-year-old.

"I haven't studied his game yet, so a fight is a fight. Of course, we defend hard in there, but he tries to keep it standing. But I don't see any problem with it because I don't see where he can beat me, standing, on the ground, wrestling, nothing", Aldo said, as quoted by MMAWeekly.

Holloway has been in brilliant form in the UFC for more than two years and comes into this clash on the back of a 10-match unbeaten streak. Despite such impressive numbers, Aldo is not impressed repeatedly questioning the quality of opponents on offer.

"He's just coming off a big win streak, but against guys that are not at the top. He fought Pettis now, who was fighting for the second time in the division, and I don't know why he thinks he's that big a deal. To me, he's just another normal fighter that I knew had a big chance of fighting me in the future. And it will happen."

The Jose Aldo vs Max Holloway fight is scheduled for 11 February at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York.
