A woman on the FBI's Ten 10 Fugitives list, wanted for allegedly shooting and killing a 9-month-pregnant woman, was captured early this morning in Fayetteville, North Carolina, according to the FBI in Milwaukee.
Shanika Minor was wanted for allegedly shooting and killing a pregnant woman after a confrontation on March 6, the FBI said. The victim was a neighbor of Minor's mother.
The woman was due to give birth within the week, the FBI said, noting that the woman and her unborn child both died before emergency medical personnel arrived.
After the shooting, Minor fled the scene and had not been seen since, the FBI said.
An arrest warrant was issued for Minor on March 9 charging her with first-degree intentional homicide and first-degree intentional homicide of an unborn child. A federal arrest warrant was issued on April 27 charging Minor with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
A reward of up to $100,000 was offered for any information leading directly to her arrest.
Officials were expected to provide more details on the capture today.
